WELCOME

Our group is based in the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. We use multidiciplinary approaches to overcome limitations in areas important for the quality of life (i.e. health, food and environment). We are particularly interested in the extraction of active compounds from Asian herbs, developing scaffolds from natural polymers for cell culture and tissue regeneration, and drug delivery. Our projects include:

  • Green extraction of bioactive compounds from plants 

  • Developing new strategies for improving the bioavailability of drugs

  • Synthesis of hydrogels 

  • Biocompatible cross-linking agents for modifying the properties of natural polymers
